DJ Gilgamesh
In the early 1990s, DJ Gilgamesh began his mixing career by playing at house parties with his cousins in and about the Los Angeles area.
He discovered the underground techno/house scene and was introduced to Detroit by DJ Joe Babylon of RoundAbout Sounds and Allen Avanessain of Plug Research.
DJ Gilgamesh began mixing at various venues and was fortunate to meet several techno pioneers including Carl Craig, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Kenny Larkin, Stacey Pullen, Aphex Twin, Delano Smith and others.
DJ Gilgamesh took a hiatus from the LA underground scene in the mid 2000’s to pursue a career in photojournalism while maintaining his love of Detroit and vinyl. He continues to collect music, mix and record in his studio while occasionally performing online.
